1. Bar Vitelli, Savoca (Sicily) — The Godfather (1972)

In the village of Savoca, Bar Vitelli is tied to one of the best-known scenes of The Godfather: here Michael Corleone meets Apollonia’s father. The place has remained almost identical to how it looked in 1972.

2. Le Gatte restaurant, Castellabate (Cilento) — Welcome to the South (2010)

On the port of Castellabate, Le Gatte is the restaurant where the hilarious dinner among colleagues in Welcome to the South is set — the comedy that made this beautiful Campanian village famous.

3. Caffè Florian, Venice — The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999)

In St Mark’s Square, at the tables of Italy’s oldest café, Tom Ripley meets Marge and Dickie’s father. A toast at the Florian is a cinematic — and grand — experience.

4. Trattoria Santa Lucia, Rome — Eat Pray Love (2010)

Near Piazza Navona, this is the trattoria where Julia Roberts savours Roman cuisine in one of the film’s most loved food scenes.
