Atrani, the heart of the series
Atrani, the smallest municipality in Italy, in the province of Salerno, becomes the town where protagonist Tom Ripley reaches Dickie Greenleaf. The narrow, steep alleys of the historic centre, overlooking the sea, form the backdrop to the early episodes. Dickie’s villa, however, was filmed in Capri.
The other Italian locations
The series crosses Italy: Naples (in the Rione Sanità, between vico Cimitile and via Fonseca), Venice (Palazzo Contarini Polignac, St Mark’s Square), Rome, Florence and Palermo. A true journey through 1960s Italy.
